Fire of Your love

Death of surrender

Whipping at my hair, ripping at my clothes

If just a spark could grab hold

My best defenses--denial and fear

I scream that This isn’t real

Ignore the Flame, hide the pain

What do I have to gain?

Temperatures rise, I close my blind eyes

You’re crossing this line

Lips cracked, I breathe the smoke

Now I choke (It’s all or nothing)

Dive headfirst or die of thirst

And be forever cursed

Flames crawling up to my chin

So you've found my blog...

In early 2009, as a senior in high school dual-enrolling in college, I was unfortunate enough to take English 102. I didn't particularly like the class... in fact, I considered dropping it many times. But of course, my mom wouldn't let me ruin my GPA like that. So I stuck it out. There were 3 major assignments in the class; all 3 were critical analyses of pieces of literature. One of these was supposed to be an analysis of a poem, and since the teacher loved poetry so much, she said we could write about any poem in the world (we normally had to write about something from our text book.) She even said we could write about a song... and so I did. The song was "Death of Me" by Red and it was one of my favorite things I had written. When I stopped procrastinating and wrote the paper (the night before it was due, if I remember correctly), it actually wasn't too boring. It was even *gasp* kind of interesting. I didn't get a very good grade, though, because my teacher "didn't care for the topic" and the paper was "too soapy."

Several months later, I suddenly thought of that paper for no apparent reason. Since I had always liked trying to analyze songs and figure them out, I thought maybe I should write some more song analyses and post them in my blog, The Choklit Blog. But I wanted to redesign the whole page and everything, and I had so many old blogs on there that I didn't really want to associate with my fresh new shiny blog. So, I kept the Choklit Blog, but made a new Blogger account to continue it on. This is that new account.

Song analyses won't be the only thing posted on here, but that's why I originally started this blog.
